OMD-Out-of-Mold Decoration

OMD (Out Mold Decoration) is the abbreviation of Out Mold Decoration, also known as high pressure transfer
After printing the pattern on the film, use high/medium/low pressure + vacuum transfer to directly transfer or coat the pattern on the plastic casing, which is a simple process of "film printing + high pressure transfer".

The transfer pattern can also be covered on the barb surface, which is suitable for three-dimensional appearance with turning corners. In terms of material selection, in addition to covering the surface of plastic, it can also be applied to various materials such as metal, glass, and ceramics. It is widely used. In many products such as automobile and motorcycle interior and exterior trim panels, 3C and medical equipment.

OMD is divided into two processes, OMR (Out-of-Mold Release) and OMF (Out-of-Mold Forming). The following is an introduction:

1. OMR (Out Mold Release): After printing the pattern on the film, use high-pressure vacuum transfer to transfer the pattern directly to the surface of the product. After the transfer, the film should be removed.

OMR: plastic parts + high pressure transfer + UV tear film.

2.OMF (Out Mold Forming): Extending the technology of IMF, using temperature and pressure control, heat-pressing transfer printing film to the surface of the product, the outer layer is covered with a film to protect the product, and does not require high-pressure molds or punching molds.

OMF: plastic parts + high pressure transfer printing.

Due to the film material, thickness and whether OMF and OMR need to be peeled or punched after forming, their application surfaces are different. Generally speaking, products with high elongation (below 10mm) are not required, and OMR is the main application. For products with high elongation (above 20mm), OMF is the main application.

OMR-Out-of-Mold Release-Introduction

OMR (Out-of-Mold Release) technology is extended by IMR,

A. Pre-UV treatment: After printing the pattern on the film, first carry out UV curing ink treatment, and use high-pressure vacuum transfer to directly transfer the pattern to the surface of the product, and then transfer, and then tear the film to release, so the outermost layer No film.

B. Post-UV treatment: After the pattern is printed on the film, the pattern is directly transferred to the surface of the product by high-pressure vacuum transfer, and UV-curable ink treatment is performed after the transfer, and then the film is torn off, so the outermost layer has no film.

OMF - Out-of-Mold Forming - Introduction

The technology is extended by IMF. After the pattern is printed on the film, the pattern film is transferred to the surface of the product through thermal transfer printing. The outer layer has a film to protect the product, and the film is generally made of injection film. Processing punching process.

The process is simple and the fixture cost is low. Even for large products, the transfer texture can be covered on the barb surface, which is suitable for three-dimensional appearance with turning corners. In terms of material selection, in addition to covering the plastic surface, it can also be applied to various metal, glass, ceramics, etc. In terms of material, it is widely used in many products such as interior and exterior trim panels of automobiles and motorcycles, 3C and medical equipment.
